James Harden Climbs to Second on All-Time 3-Point List

James Harden continues to solidify his legacy, passing Ray Allen for second all-time in career 3-pointers made during Sunday’s game against the Utah Jazz. Harden’s historic shot gave him 2,974 career triples, achieved in 215 fewer games than Allen. This leap was made possible by Harden’s high-volume shooting, a hallmark of his career.

The only player ahead of Harden is Stephen Curry, who has an astonishing 3,782 career 3s and counting, a mark Harden likely won’t catch.
At 35 years old, Harden's career achievements stack up impressively, NBA MVP, 10-time All-Star, three-time scoring champ, and seven-time All-NBA selection. Add this latest milestone to his résumé, and it’s clear that Harden’s legacy is Hall of Fame-bound.
Cavs Stay Perfect at 15-0 While Mitchell Rests

The Cleveland Cavaliers keep making history. Darius Garland dropped 25 points, Ty Jerome tied his career-high with 24, and the Cavs cruised past the Charlotte Hornets, 128-114. That’s win number 15 in a row to start the season, putting Cleveland in rare air. Only three other teams have done it, with the 2015-16 Warriors’ legendary 24-0 start still holding the record.
With Donovan Mitchell resting, coach Kenny Atkinson leaned on the bench, and the team didn’t miss a beat. That depth is paying off big, as Cleveland's streak rolls on and the fans are fully onboard.
“It’s incredible how Cleveland has adopted us,” said Allen. The city, it seems, is all Cavs right now.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Both Isaac Okoro and Dean Wade, who was later spotted in a walking boot left the game with ankle injuries, not the kind of streak the Cavs want to continue.
Tatum’s Walk-Off 3 Came With a Side of Travel

Jayson Tatum’s buzzer-beater 3-pointer in overtime against the Raptors had Boston fans celebrating a thrilling 126-123 win, until the NBA’s Last Two Minute Report dropped some sobering news. The league confirmed that Tatum’s decisive shot should have been wiped off the board due to an uncalled travel.

With just 3.4 seconds left in OT, Tatum shuffled his pivot foot before launching the dagger over Toronto’s Ochai Agbaji. That wasn’t the only missed call. Earlier in the sequence, the report revealed that Toronto’s Davion Mitchell should’ve been whistled for a foul on Jaylen Brown, which could’ve sent Brown to the line in a tied game.
Instead, play continued, and Tatum seized his moment. Even with the controversy, Boston walks away with the win, but this one’s sure to sting for Raptors fans.
Grizzlies Rookie Zach Edey Exits with Ankle Injury

The Memphis Grizzlies took a hit on Sunday when rookie center Zach Edey left the game against the Denver Nuggets due to a left ankle injury. Edey first tweaked his ankle in the first half and aggravated it later in the third quarter, exiting with Memphis holding a commanding lead.
Before leaving, the 7-foot-4 former Purdue standout logged 7 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in just 14 minutes off the bench. The Grizzlies ultimately held on for a solid 105-90 win, but Edey’s status remains a concern. Having already dealt with ankle issues during the NBA Summer League, this is something Memphis will be monitoring closely.
Edey has been an important piece for the Grizzlies this season, averaging 11.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks across 14 games. However, with Ja Morant still sidelined due to a hip injury, Memphis can’t afford to lose another key contributor.
De'Aaron Fox’s Historic Back-to-Back Explosions

In Sacramento, De'Aaron Fox was rewriting record books for the Kings. Fox dropped 49 points on Saturday night against the Utah Jazz, following a jaw-dropping 60-point performance the previous night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. That’s 109 points in two games, a Kings franchise record.
Fox’s heroics came with key Kings players like DeMar DeRozan, Domantas Sabonis, and Malik Monk out due to injuries. In a tight 121-117 win over the Jazz, Fox did everything, including nearly losing a shoe mid-play before recovering and scoring a lay-up.
Mike Brown, Kings head coach, couldn’t hold back his praise:
"I've been around players like Steph, KD, Kobe, LeBron, and Tim Duncan. De'Aaron Fox is showing he's on that level. There's nobody in this league who can stop him from getting to his spots."
Doc Rivers Fined After Controversial Giannis Foul

Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers is lighter in the wallet this week after the NBA fined him $25,000 for his public criticism of officiating during the Bucks’ 115-114 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Rivers didn’t hold back postgame, calling out a foul on Giannis Antetokounmpo that the league later admitted was a mistake.
With 7.3 seconds left and the Bucks clinging to a one-point lead, LaMelo Ball drove into the lane, slipped, and fell. Despite replays showing no apparent contact, Antetokounmpo was called for a foul. Ball sank both free throws, securing the win for Charlotte.
The Bucks had no challenges left, so the call stood, much to Rivers’ frustration.
"LaMelo Ball fell. He just fell down. Nobody was near him. He slipped on his own. We come up with the ball and the game is over."
He also noted this wasn’t the first time officiating had cost his team late in a game, referencing a similar incident in their recent win over Detroit:
While the Bucks escaped in Detroit thanks to missed free throws, Charlotte capitalized, leaving Rivers and his team empty-handed.

Dallas Wings Win WNBA Draft Lottery

The Dallas Wings have secured the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, positioning them to potentially select UConn's standout guard, Paige Bueckers. This marks the second time in franchise history that the Wings have held the top pick, the first being in 2021 when they selected Charli Collier.
Following Dallas in the draft order are the Los Angeles Sparks at No. 2, the Chicago Sky at No. 3, and the Washington Mystics at No. 4. The newly established Golden State Valkyries will make their inaugural draft selection at No. 5.
In preparation for their debut season, the Golden State Valkyries will participate in an expansion draft on December 6, 2024, broadcast live on ESPN. This event will allow the Valkyries to select one player from each of the existing 12 WNBA teams, with each team permitted to protect up to six players from selection. The expansion draft marks the league's first since 2008, highlighting the WNBA's ongoing growth and evolution.
The Dallas Wings' acquisition of the top draft pick presents a significant opportunity to enhance their roster, especially with a talent like Paige Bueckers potentially available. Bueckers, known for her exceptional playmaking and scoring abilities, could be a transformative addition to the Wings' lineup.
